The edge shows how much you will win by drinking the Lucozade
The advertisement for Lucozade The Edge is very clever because it shows the few centimeters of how much a person can win by in a race. The advertisement shows that by drinking the lucozade you will win by that few centimeters as the lucozade is shown as the size of how much you will win by. Now, people that are playing sports will feel that they have to drink the lucozade and win their race.
The Lucozade is shown as a recovery to aids.
I used Telly Ads Vintage to watch the 'Lucozade Aids recovery' advertisement. Lucozade is presented as something that will help recovery of aids but at the same time give children energy so in a mothers eyes this would seem like a perfect product to buy. Mothers would feel like if they didn't buy the Lucozade their children will not recover and will not have a fun time outside so it would make them feel guilty.
"Lucozade aids recovery" means that it helps you get better (not related to Aids). You have the basics in both pieces of analysis but should go into more detail. For example, pick a frame in either advertisement and explain how the brand message comes across. Why do we have the over the shoulder shot of the little sick boy looking longingly out of the window at his friends? Grade C
