We watched the Austin powers advertisement with Tom Cruise. One of the action and adventure convection's used is jeopardy and suspense. Jeopardy is used when the car is chasing Austin Powers which is dangerous, thrilling, and also creates suspense. Combat and conflict are used when the man in the helicopter tries to shoot Austin but he flies in the air and shoots this man which contains violence. Speed and motion is used because the first couple minutes of the advert contains cars, helicopters and motorbikes chasing each other in order to get what they want. Protagonists and antagonists are used in this advert to show that the hero is a strong and brave man that can always defeat the villain. The sidekick in this advert is a women that has come across as quite easy to get, sexy, yet clever at what she does at the same time. She seems easy to get because she throws herself on Austin and sexy because of her tight clothing and the way the camera has featured her (feet to head). Although, she also comes across as a good superhero as she dodged the villain many times when he tried to shoot her.
